The Veneto Regional Government has fund Civen with 12 MLN of Euro to carry out 9 R&D projects in the sector of nanobiotechnology and nanotechnology applied to materials. The projects are defined by the Regional Government and by Veneto Nanotech, the Italian high-tech cluster of nanotechnologies applied to materials.
The R&D projects of the applied research for the nanotechnology transfer to the industry will tract of:
1 Nanostructures for chemical and biochemical sensors 2. Removal of layers with high tribological properties and resistance against corrosion 3. Nanostructured material for protective or decorative coating 4. Removal of thin films with nanometric dimensions and thick coating made of nanocomposites of organic, inorganic or hybrid type 5. Construction of micro arrays aimed at studying genomics and proteomics 6. Development of nanocomposite polymers systems 7. Development of light alloy nanostructured materials 8. Development of sensors for biological and agricultural and food industry 9. Monitoring and risk assessment of nanotechnology in productive environment
R&D projects are carried out by Civen scientific staff (1 director and 12 researchers), in a newly build cutting edge lab, called Nanofabrication Facility (NFF), established by Civen and the Venice Science and Technology Park "VEGA", in Marghera, 5 km mainland Venice, Italy. It includes 1,500 square meters of laboratories and 500 square meters of office space. It is furnished with top-level scientific equipment worth more than 20 million Euros. |
